Communication Services

Public telephones are readily available in the majority places in the UK, all of which should provide clear instructions and diagrams of how to use them. Most public telephones can accept credit cards, phone cards and coins. Dual band and tri band mobile phones that have GSM 900 or 1800 should work via roaming in the UK. It is best to check with your mobile provider before leaving to find out if your phones will work abroad. A British prepay mobile phone can be bought, including phone number and SIM card for as little as £30. The emergency number is 999.

Internet access is widely available throughout the UK, many hotels offer access in their rooms if you have your own computer and there are many internet cafes, prices are usually around £1 per hour. Full wireless internet connectivity will be available at the West Road Concert Hall, as will a fully equipped business services centre.
