There will be a Welcome Reception on Monday 19 July at the Fitzwiiliam Museum, the art museum of the University of Cambridge. This will be a networking and meet and greet event where delegates and partners can join each other over drinks and canapés - details to follow.
Delegates will be able to book their places at the Welcome Reception when registering for WABCG10. The cost of attending is included in the delegate fee and additional places for non-delegates can be booked through the WABCG10 Partner Programme.
The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art museum of the University of Cambridge and few museums in the world contain on a single site, collections of such variety and depth. It has been described as the ‘best small museum in Europe’. The Galleries are a treasure trove and will provide a stunning and unique environment for the Welcome Reception.
Galleries I to V house European paintings, furniture and sculpture art from the likes of Fragonard to Picasso, Monet to Stanley Spencer. Utilising a number of the galleries in the museum the reception will take place amongst paintings by esteemed artists including Hogarth, Stubbs, Gainsborough, Monet, Fragonard and Stanley Spencer. The principal gallery of the Grade I listed Founder’s Building is Gallery III, which currently houses British art from the 16th to 18th centuries as well as a grand piano for musical accompaniment.
