His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester, to speak at world sugar conference

His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester, will welcome delegates from around the world to the World Association of Beet and Cane Growers (WABCG) conference in Cambridge on the 19th July, 2010.

The prestigious tri-annual event is being hosted by the National Farmers’ Union of England and Wales in the UK for the first time, and welcomes over 200 delegates, representing sugar beet and sugar cane growers from 31 countries across the globe.

The NFU Sugar Board Chairman, William Martin, expressed his delight at having such a high profile guest at the conference. ‘We are very honoured that His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester has given his time to attend the conference. The Royal Family are great supporters of UK agriculture and we are delighted that His Royal Highness will be able to address this important conference for the sugar industry.’
